Tenor/haute-contre Lawrence Olsworth-Peter trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the Accademia Rossiniana, Pesaro. He is in increasingly in demand as a rare high tenor particularly known for his detailed, versatile acting.

Lawrence made his international operatic debut in 2010 at the Pesaro Rossini Opera Festival debut as Don Luigino in Il Viaggio a Reims under the direction of the late Alberto Zedda. Recent engagements have included: Sailor/Dido & Aeneas for ENO, Pane/la Calisto for Opéra National du Rhin with les talens lyriques, Acis/Acis & Galatea at the Gohliser Schlosschen Leipzig, Achante in the modern-era premiere of Rameau's Achante et Cephise for UCOpera, Orphee/Orphee et Eurydice for Opera in the City and Almaviva/il barbiere di Siviglia for various UK touring companies including Surrey Opera, and OperaUpClose.

Other notable roles have included: Don Ramiro/ La Cenerentola for OperaUpClose, Tonio/ La fille du regiment for Diva Opera, Nemorino/L'elisir d'amore OperaUpClose, and the title role in J.C Bach's Amadis de Gaule for UCOpera.

He has performed at many major international festivals including Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Beaune, Dijon and Vézère.

Character roles have included Don Basilio & Curzio/The Marriage of Figaro for Merry Opera, Monostatos/The Magic Flute for OperaUpClose, Tybalt/Romeo et Juliette for Grange Park Opera (cover) and Nathanael & Spalanzani/The Tales of Hoffmann for Grimeborn Opera Festival.
Lawrence was a finalist of the Les Azuriales Young Artist Competition in Nice and has appeared as a soloist live on BBC 3 In Tune with Sean Rafferty.
Prior to his operatic career Lawrence also achieved gold medal LAMDA in acting (hons) instructed by the late Christine Way. Acting roles have included Elyot/ Private Lives, Simon/ Hay Fever (Bristol Old Vic basement), Brendan/ The Weir, Leontes/ The Winter’s Tale, Marlow/ She Stoops to Conquer.
As a Theology graduate from Bristol University, Lawrence has a keen interest in Oratorio, regularly performing core sacred works including Haydn/ Creation, Mendelssohn/ Elijah, Monteverdi/ Vespers and Bach Passions.
He is also a translator of scores into new English translations, including Bach's St John Passion, which premiered in 2018.
